Jeremy joins Councilmember Nelson's office with experience most recently as Director of Government Relations at the Evergreen State College, where he placed equity front and center in his work, successfully advocating the legislature to fund Native Arts & Education programs and DEI initiatives, while working as a stakeholder to reform educational opportunities for incarcerated individuals. Prior to that, he served as Executive Assistant to former Senate Majority Leader Sharon Nelson, where he worked on behalf of the Senator's West Seattle constituents and across the aisle to help advance critical legislation impacting residents across Washington. After transferring with an AA from North Seattle Community College, Jeremy earned a BA in political science from Western Washington University and a Master of Public Administration from The Evergreen State College. 

Among his proudest accomplishments, Jeremy worked in 2012 on the campaign to legalize marriage equality in Washington, the same year he was elected as a Delegate to the Democratic National Convention. He currently lives in West Lake Union with his husband and two cats. In his spare time, he's likely to be found baking, camping, or catching the newest movie releases. Jeremy serves as Councilmember Nelson's Chief of Staff.

Taemin was born in Fort Lewis, grew up in Bellevue, Washington and graduated from Eastern Washington University in 2014. He managed and later consulted on local, state, and federal political campaigns.  Taemin also worked for State Representative Vandana Slatter. 

Taemin currently serves as a Board Member for the WA Chapter of the Korean American Coalition.  He is a proud supporter of the Seattle Mariners and believes that this will finally be the year.

Steven Ellis joins Councilmember Nelson's office after five state legislative sessions staffing the Washington Senate Democratic Caucus, first as a communications specialist and then as policy counsel staffing the capital budget, the Business, Financial Services & Trade Committee and the Higher Education & Workforce Development Committee.

Before moving to Seattle in 2017, he served for seven years as an analyst, editor and spokesperson for the Vienna, Austria-based International Press Institute (IPI) - the world’s oldest global press freedom organization - including three years as director of advocacy and communications.

Steven previously covered courts and the legal community in Los Angeles as a reporter for a daily newspaper. He also practiced law in Michigan after serving as a legal clerk in the Office of Executive Counsel to the Governor and as driver and staffer to then-Attorney General Jennifer Granholm.

A Michigan native, Steven graduated with honors from the Michigan State University College of Law after completing undergraduate studies at MSU. He is a licensed attorney in Washington, Illinois (inactive) and Michigan. He is also a musician and was a charter member (bassoon) of the Los Angeles Lawyers Philharmonic.
