- December 9, from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Outside of Emerson Elementary covered basketball court, 5801 S Pilgrim St, Seattle, WA 98118
At these events, we will present the preferred design and provide opportunities to share feedback on design details such as playground equipment, site furnishings and other detailed park elements.

The Seattle Park District is providing $4,105,000 for this renovation.

Project Description
Hutchinson Playground will undergo a complete park renovation. This project includes a new play area renovation for ages two and up, resurfaced sport courts, basketball court reconstruction, playfield repair, enhanced natural areas, and pathway, entrance, and other related improvements to meet accessibility standards and improve safety.
Anticipated Site Impact: The playground will be closed in 2025. Specific dates will be provided when we are closer to construction.

Community Participation
The first Community Design Meeting was held on Thursday, August 3, 2023.
Thank you to everyone who attended and provided input. At the meeting, the design team shared results from our community survey, a site analysis, potential play area styles and park design options.
