Volunteers caring for tree

Tree Lover? Volunteer with us!

Do you dream of living in a tree house? Do you eagerly await the first leaf buds in the spring? Do you love to lie on your back and watch branches dance in the breeze? Does a stroll down a tree-lined street put a smile on your face? You may be a tree lover!

What Do Seattle Tree Steward volunteers Do?

Tree Stewardship: Help care for trees in neighborhood spaces by joining work parties to remove ivy and other aggressive weeds that damage our forest. We also mulch, water, plant new trees and plants, as well as other small tasks that keep trees healthy. Trees for Seattle staff organize events and provide tools, gloves, snacks, and more. Find an event near you.

Do you have a group of 10-30 people who would like to work together to care for Seattle's trees? Contact us about bringing your group to a work party by emailing

Tree Walks: Explore Seattle's awe-inspiring trees with your friends and neighbors. Volunteer tree Walk leaders give tours of neighborhood trees to engage their community in caring and learning about the trees they live around. Volunteers lead these walks as a public event and Trees for Seattle supports with advertising, all tree walk content, and more. Check out the events page for any upcoming walks or download one of the self-guided walks to get started.
